Ghosts

Darkness
Dims the empty picture,
Distant movements of men in white coats,
Scientists from the 1930's.

Time has travelled,
Lawrence on the page
Has come back to life
To haunt me.

Darkness
Invades the dead shelves,
Brought to light with sudden movements
Then put to death again.

Silent shiftings,
The ghosts in these shelves
Come alive again
To haunt me.
